Ok, so I will admit that I chose The Aladdin because the price could not be beaten. And I want to give credit where it is do. I had a resort room and it was fantastic. The room is HUGE, the bathroom is excellent with his/her sinks and a cool tub in the middle, and the view of Bellagio's fountains was worth a million bucks. So I am a big fan of the rooms....ok? Now, in a hotel this large, there are always good and bad things. But let's face it, we go to Vegas to have fun and frankly, this is about the ugliest casino I have ever seen. How could they have spent so much money building this place and have plastic flowers on the casino walls? It is beyond tacky. The Italian Restaurant was nice and the server tried to be professional, but it was dead. The shopping area looked half-baked. The pools...many, remember whenLas Vegas pools were huge and on the ground? The pools are pretty bad. And I am sorry, but arriving at this hotel is like driving through a bad highway prject...look at Ceasar's and Bellagio, they have a sense of arrival.I hope that things shape up as the renovation ofthis new hotel begins...and that it finds character and a little style. There is alot of work to do.
We stayed at the Aladdin Oct 19-22. Checkin was VERY long and when we finally got to the front of the line the strip suite I had reserved was still occupied by a VIP. After waiting a couple hours for him to check out we returned and he was still in our room. At this point they upgraded us to a panarama suite at no extra charge($284 a night). The room was great and was worth the hassle. GREAT view, 1300 square feet, and a big screen TV. I have no complaints with the room at the price we paid. The buffet was excellent! Changs was very good also. However, the general layout of the casino and hotel just wasn't up to par with the other hotels on the strip. The layout was confusing. The dealers were very boring and unfriendly. There just didn't seem to be any life or energy here. This really wasn't a problem. I played blackjack across the street at Bellagio and Paris and had a great time(made about $700). Overall we had a great trip, but I probably wont stay at Aladdin again.
Having booked the Aladdin several months before my stay, I was a bit concerned about the number of bad reviews I'd read on this site!! But.. the great news is.. it was FANTASTIC ! The staff were very friendly and when we checked in and asked for a view of the Bellagio fountains - not a problem and at no extra charge!! The rooms were comfortable and the bathroom was huge!!! The live entertainment in Sinbad's Lounge was excellent and if you're a fan of Chinese food - check out PF Changs. (You can't actually book a table, but put your name down on their priority seating list. They'll give you a pager if you don't want to sit in their bar and you'll be seated with 30 minutes). The Spice Market Buffet is also very good. As far as the casino itself goes, we were lucky on the slots on a number of occasions so nothing to complain about there! (And there were plenty of cocktail waitresses around for those free drinks). If you show your room key you can get into the nightclub Curve for free. There are two rooms there playing dance and hip-hop and a balcony where you can go outside to cool down ( hah - in that heat - no chance ) !!Anyway - I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this hotel to anyone. We stayed there for 2 whole weeks and could easily have stayed longer... |
