Visited Barbary Coast after several previous visits to LV when I stayed at Harrahs and Golden Nugget Downtown. Barbary Coast has very nice rooms, easy check in, and it takes only minutes to get from the strip to the room or from the car to the room. Check out was a breeze too, consisting of a smile and "You're all set. Have a safe and pleasant trip home". On the downside, there is no pool or spa so if you must have either, stay elsewhere. Also, the Victorian room seems to be the most popular restaurant in all Las Vegas. Regardless of the day or time, it seems to always have a wait, as long as 1 hour at breakfast! But they put your name on a list and announce your name in the casino when your table is available. They probably would call you in your room if that was more convenient. Overall thought, I'd GLADLY stay at Barbery Coast again. It's location can't be beat, and the staff was first rate!
The Barbary Coast hotel is a small hotel located in the exact center of everything you want to do in Las Vegas. It has elegant rooms which are larger than the usual rooms in Vegas and has a small restaurant, The Victorian Room, which has the best breakfast in town. You don't pay for 'extras' at the Barbary Coast because there are none - no pool, no expensive side attractions, etc. They have nice, quiet rooms that are equidistant from both ends of the strip. They are directly across from Caesars' and right next to a pedestrian walkway which crosses the highway. The rooms on one side of the hotel look out onto the Bellagio fountain shows. We've stayed in many hotels in Vegas and this is one of the most convenient. And the prices cannot be beat, especially if you find a 'special' - we paid less than half of what we did at other hotels!
Stayed at the Barbary Coast one night on business. It was a Thursday night. $50 for a king non-smoking. The entire hotel is obviously older, but it is kept very clean and has a classy atmosphere. The room was spotless and had a very nice decor. A/C worked good and the water pressure in the shower was EXCELLENT! Small number of rooms in the hotel so getting around is very easy! You don't have to walk a mile to the garage/restaurant/rooms/bar. Right in the middle of the strip--best location on the strip of any hotel in Vegas. New TV, several coupons for free drinks. My only disappointment is that you have to call housekeeping for an iron and ironing board, but that's it.
We recently stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. We had a pretty good view of the fountains of the Bellagio but the noise from traffic was so loud we could barely get any sleep at all. The elevators are the slowest I have ever seen and there is no place to get a soda. They have a small coffee bar near the front of the casino but only had bottled 7-Up and Pepsi, both tasted as if they were bottle hundreds of years ago. The plus to this hotel is it is right in the middle of everything and within walking distance of all the very nice expensive hotels. The cleaning service was very slow, they never made it to the room before 3 or 4 in the afternoon and never left enough towels nor did they do a very thorough cleaning. The price was very good but next time I will splurge a little more and get a nicer hotel.
We chose this hotel because it was small- only 6 floors. It didn't take an age to get to the room like other hotels and we didn't get lost in it! The rooms were kept really clean, the beds were so comfortable and the room service food really tasty and fast. We ate in the reasonably priced Victorian room a few times too. Air conditioning was powerful, and the hairdryer and alarm clock handy. We plan to go back later this year to this laid back, less frantic, cosy hotel. |
