The Boardwalk certainly suited our needs. We wanted a place to sleep and clean up. The room was quiet and very clean. We liked having a ironing board and iron in the room for our wrinkled clothes. Also saw a clothes washing area with washing machine and dryer. (That seemed a great benefit but we didn't take advantage of it.) The dining room had a special of Prime Rib dinner and it was just super delicous. Waiter and attendents were very helpful and friendly. We loved the Casino and the various machines. My husband and I really enjoyed the nickel machines and spent lots of time winning and losing. The delli had good fast food. The hamburger served in a hot dog bun looked very interesting! We shopped in the gift shop where they had lots of interesting items for sale. Did find the snacks priced extremely high.We did not use the pool since we were so busy gambling. The location was perfect. We had the opportunity to walk to many other casinos.
I stayed at the Boardwalk twice. This last time was Sep 2003. If your looking for a hotel located on the strip this is a good location. They also offer $1 drinks at one of the bars. If your looking for something more fancy go some where else. The only problem I had this last time was when I took a shower the drain was slow. The employees are great. The food isn't the greatest, but cheap.
We stayed here for 5 nights on the 14th floor in October and the only good thing about the Boardwalk is the desk staff, the view from the Tower rooms and the fact it was quiet. Other than that, I would NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN OR RECOMMEND IT!For two days straight, our toilet kept backing up. The maintenance staff had to unclog it and after numerous trips, agreed to leave a plunger in our bathroom. The management told us that they would not offer us any discount because previous guests supposedly clogged the toilets to receive comps. So nice to be accused of doing something wrong! The room was very old, outdated and had extremely poor lighting. The casino is very dingy (smells like mildew) and the shows are very corny.Don't even waste your time taking the escalator up to the Surf Buffet. Food was bland and cold. You would be better going down the street to Carrow's for a hearty breakfast.Put your hotel money towards the Monte Carlo, Aladdin or Paris. You'll be much happier that you did so.As someone else wrote...implode the Boardwalk already.
I stayed at the Boardwalk for 4 nights. Arrived on Sunday July 6th and check in was quick. Once we got to our room it was HOT in there. The Airconditioner wasn't working right. Called the frount desk and was given a room in the tower. If you are going to stay here make sure you are in the tower. The room was very nice and cool. |
