Las Vegas - Luxor: "Loved The Luxor Pyramid"
Reviewer: Maritza, Yonkers, NY

My husband and I went for our honeymoon to Vegas on 12/06/03 and stayed at the Luxor. It was absolutely magnificent. The rooms were nicely decorated, clean and spacious we stayed in the pyramid. I loved the ride in the elevators, they move at an angle. While gambling, waitreses came by asking if you'd like something to drink. The food at the restaurants were delicious, my hushand loved breakfast at the buffet. We saw the Blue Man Group, the theater is super comfortable huge seats. The staff was very nice and friendly. It was a breeze to check in and we did the x-press checkout. All I can say is that I'd give anything to be there again.

Las Vegas - Luxor: "What a time at Luxor!"

We just returned yesterday from a 5 night stay at the Luxor. But before I get into hotel details, let me begin by saying, even if you have no interest in gambling, partying, clubs, etc. Vegas is still a wonderful place to see! We arrived at the Luxor on a Wednesday morning. Our bags were checked immediately, and we were told we could check in at 1:00pm, as opposed to the listed 3:00pm. It took us no more than 10 minutes to check in, and be on our way to the room. One piece of advice. Everyone tends to sit along the back wall while waiting for check-in, however, if you stand in "line" while waiting, you're almost guaranteed to get served 1st. We stood for a few minutes, before they began, but because we waited close to the desk, we got right through.

When we got to our room, we were very pleasantly surprised. We had read the stories saying that the tower rooms were much nicer, however we opted for a 25th floor room in the pyramid. The room was immaculately clean, with an amazing view of the sphinx in front of the hotel, to our left you could see all the way down past the Aladdin and Paris, but the best part was the mountains behind all of the glitter.

During our stay, we ate at the Pyramid Cafe on a couple of late night snack runs. The service was good, and for the "diner" atmosphere, the food was much better than we had anticipated. I have to say though, MAKE RESERVATIONS AT ISIS. We went for 1 dinner, and it was absolutely wonderful. The salad and breads were great, and the meals were beautifully presented, as well as delicious. The highlight of the meal though would have to be the desserts, they were spectacular. We went to the Midnight Fantasy Revue show, and were pleasantly surprised once again. It was done very tastefully, and was highly entertaining. We had previously seen the Blue Man Group, in New york, however we loved it so much we decided to see it again. This vegas production of the show was astounding. The theatre was very comfortable, and the show was better than we had remembered. Please remember though, if you should choose to sit in the "poncho" section. Be sure you where the provided poncho. YOU WILL NEED IT!

The casino at first was a bit intimidating, especially after reading the horror stories of how confusing it was. But after the first day we were able to navigate our way around with no problem. And if you do lose your way, there are signs around every turn pointing you in the right direction. The slots were somewhat tight, however the double bonus poker machines paid well, along with the $1 electronic blackjack machines. The tables were great, all of the dealers were very friendly. Lastly, the tram that connects Mandalay Bay, Luxor, and Excalibur was great. Although they are close to each other, the walk can become tedious. The easiest way to get to the MGM Grand and New York, New York, is to take the tram to Excalibur, then there is a walkway over the strip to NYNY. (great view by the way) and then you can walk right next door to the MGM.

So for those of you who need a list:Things to do at Luxor: 1. Stand close to desk at Check-In. 2. Request high floor room in Pyramid: strip view. 3. Have dinner at Isis 4. See Blue Man Group 5. $1 blackjack machines & double bonus poker 6. Use the Trams to get around! 7. Take LOTS & LOTS of pictures!I hope this was useful, if you have any questions, or want find out about something I may not have mentioned. Please feel free to email me!!! Thanks so much! and enjoy your trip to Vegas!

Las Vegas - Luxor: "Horrible at the Luxor"
Reviewer: Las Vegas visitor, seattle, wa

I had a terrible time at the Luxor. The rooms are really small and dirty. Room service trays sit there for days on end. Maid service is non existent. The elevators are located too far away from some of the rooms. We ended up taking the stairs to get to a closer elevator. The elevators make you ill and they make lots of scary shuttering noise. I wouldn't advise staying by the elevator because people are way too noisy walking by rooms and of course the rooms are not sound proof.

I was never offered a drink at the casino even when I played at the same poker machine for hours. A fire alarm woke us up one night at 2am and was not shut off until 3:30am. We asked to be compensated for this inconvience and all they could do is shrug and say we have no control over that situation. The lines checking in were incredibally long and the service at the desk was very gruff. When I inquired about a strip view I was told there was no strip view at the hotel. It was sort of amazing that we got a room on the strip view side then. Sure since the hotel is on the far end of the strip you have to look to your left a bit to see center strip but the view was ok nonetheless.

Las Vegas - Luxor: "Bad casino, good hotel"

Easy check in, nice room, good food, but the casino staff is awful, can't get a drink and the dealers are cold and act board, went across the street to the Tropicana and had a great time. Someone should remind the Luxor that they are in Vegas. Ok to stay in but gamble elsewhere.

Las Vegas - Luxor: "Great place to stay"
Reviewer: vicki.reilly@lloydfraser.com, Rugby, Warwickshire

We have just returned from five nights in Las Vegas at the Luxor. Our second trip, last time we stayed at the Mandalay Bay (excellent) but chose the Luxor this time as we loved the buffet!Great rooms (we stayed in a pyramid room), two queen size beds, nice clean bathroom and maid service every day. We didn't suffer with noise at all, although we were in the main pyramid.Inclinators are weird, travelling at 39 degrees. Desk staff friendly, express checkout on screen fab!A great place to stay. I won't come back though, purely because there are too many hotels on the Strip that I want to experience!
