My husband and I first stayed at the Mirage for our honeymoon. We absolutely loved it. We came in our first night after walking around and there was a bottle of champagne chilling for us from the hotel because they knew we were there on our honeymoon. We loved the pool. It is very crowded, but well worth the hassle of finding a seat. Because we stayed with them once, we receive good deals through the mail about 2 times a year and that has caused us to go back. We went back another time and stayed at another hotel and wished we had stayed at the Mirage. I absolutely love the Mirage. I like the casino and the tropical theme. We are going back this summer and are staying at the Mirage. It's just such a beautiful hotel and it has a great location at the north end of the strip.
We visit Las Vegas usually 2-3 times a year. We have stayed at the Mirage over the past 10. 2 years ago we had the opportunity to get away with friends and stayed at another popular casino. We were amazed at the comps we recieved from the hotel. Room upgrade and endless meals, oh and we won too !!! We last visited the Mirage in Sept 2003. Against my husbands wishes. However I wanted to give it one more try. We even mentioned to a manager at check in that we never and I do mean never recived anything from the Mirage. She said someone would be contacting us over our stay. No one ever did. To make a long story short. If your going to go to Vegas, spend several thousand dollars a day, dont expect anything from the Mirage. We are givng Treasure Island a try in just about a week. Hopefully they will be a little more generous than the Mirage.
Just got back from a three night stay at the Mirage. Had an upgraded tower room (#25084) with view of the volcano. When we got to the room the air conditioner was turned off and the room was at least 90 degrees. The unit had one vent and did not cool room adequately. Maintenance looked at unit and replaced a filter which looked liked it had not been changed for a while. Bathroom had lights out in vanity and the shower drained very slowly. All for $250 a night. Mirage used to be my favorite casino but has slipped under new management. Would recommend Mandalay Bay, Venetian or Bellagio.
Just returned from Las Vegas and stayed at "gulp" another hotel/casino. I could not believe the rotten luck I had everywhere on the strip except at the Mirage! It seems this casino is the only one which remembers that people need to win occasionally in order to be motivated to play! The craps croupiers were friendly, patient, and helpful with other players who were less experienced and knowledgable with the fine points of the game. The blackjack dealers were wonderful (Jane and Ruben won my heart completely), and the new shuffling machines they use are player-friendly, and make for a smooth game free of annoying shuffle interruptions. The wonderful casino environment is the primary reason I will return to Vegas later this year, and this time I will be sure to stay at the Mirage.
Check in was adequate time wise, Easter weekend. Really didn't think it would be so crowded. Too many kids everywhere you went. Rooms were well taken care of. Got the upgraded view from an interet ad, it was beautiful. Didn't remember to ask for a room closer to the elevator-DON"T MAKE MY MISTAKE-it's along walk to the room after walking all day. But the view is probably better for the volcano. Service was good, but slow. Couldn't even eat in the hotel, all the restaraunts were so crowded-1-2 hr wait average. Pool was crowded. Maybe it's always like this, but it was my first time. All in all my husband and I had a great weekend, but I wouldn't be going back any time soon. Not for us. Not big gamblers. Hope this helps. |
