A long-standing hotel located in the heart of downtown Las Vegas. The atmosphere surrounding the Cortez has been considerably more appealing in recent years since Las Vegas officials have made an earnest effort to clean up its downtown area. The recent edition of Fremont Street Experience, a covered outdoor string of stores, casinos, and vendors with an overhead light display, has attracted more people and the inclusion of a Las Vegas Metro Police substation down the block has added to the perception of safety. The El Cortez is very affordable and close to the Downtown Transit Center. Rates: $30-60 Daily.
